Program Phases
Personal
achievement plays a key role in getting back on your feet. We've
designed our program phases to give you a clear sense of progress and
accomplishment as you move through treatment at your own pace. As you
learn new skills, we give you more opportunities to put them to work in
a semi-independent living setting where immediate, face-to-face support
is readily available.
While phases are simply guidelines, here's what you can expect in each of them:
During this critical initial stage, when anxiety and vulnerability
are common and new medication may be prescribed, we give you the
security of a structured environment and the support of personal
supervision, especially when off-premises. This phase focuses on
assessment, observation and, when needed, detoxification. Phase 1
is a time to stabilize, so you can progress and enjoy the full benefit
of the program phases to follow. With medical clearance, you are
encouraged to enjoy all onsite recreational activities and explore your
surroundings.
Phase 2 is often the most intensive part of the program, where the
real work happens. As you become more familiar with your new
environment, routines, and newly learned skills, you'll benefit from
more self-sufficiency and less supervision. While we are always
available for support and guidance, you may begin to follow your
internal recovery program. This phase of your recovery might also
include outings with staff members and your temporary sponsor, as well
as your own choices of offsite meetings and the company you keep.
As the transition to your new life nears completion,
you will have built a strong foundation for
recovery. Access to support
is readily available, as are passes to attend
unescorted offsite events and pre-approved
overnight stays. Volunteer work
and employment in the community are
also encouraged as your focus begins to shift
from the treatment program itself to your
return home - or perhaps the establishment
of a new home.
